Mark Ibanez is a famous American journalist best known as the Sports Director at KTVU. He states that he would never want to work at any other station or in any other city. Previously, Ibanez worked at KXTV in Sacramento.
As for his studies, he attended different schools during his high school. This includes San Rafael High School and Petaluma Senior School. Later, he joined Santa Rosa Junior College and finally earned his journalism degree from the University of Idaho in 1978.
After working for KXTV, Mark was approached by the news director of KTVU Channel 2 later in 1979. A week later, he was given a job offer. He claims that during his time there, he witnessed every 49ers Super Bowl victory and Giants World Series victory. He has also covered the Warriors during their push for an NBA Championship.
Furthermore, in 1982, Ibanez was in the press box when the Stamford Bamd ran onto the field during the Big Game at Cal’s Memorial Stadium, also known as ‘The Play’. He was also present for the Earthquake Series in 1989 when the Bay Area came to a terrible end. In addition, Mark also covered the Warriors’ championship seasons in 2015, 2017, and 2018.
