Bell’s fascination with weather began at a young age. A significant occurrence that piqued her curiosity was the 1998 Nashville F3 tornado. She later attended Mississippi State University and finished her Bachelor of Professional Meteorology degree. While still at Mississippi, she was chosen to participate in the school’s Great Plains Storm Chase. As a result, she spent several weeks pursuing violent storms in tornado alleys.
