Jonathan Knight is a renowned American pop singer and real estate developer, famous for being a former member of the New Kids on the Block. The band includes Donnie Wahlberg, Joey MClntyre, Danny Wood, and his young brother Jordan. He is currently the host of the HGTV television show Farmhouse Fixer, a program that premiered on March 3, 2021.
His series on HGTV had over 15 million views by the end of season two. Season three of the show premiered on April 23, 2024, featuring Knight and interior designer Kristina Crestin.
Early Career
Jonathan Knight was part of New Kids on the Block (NKOTB), a popular American boy band, from 1986 to 1994. His younger brother, Jordan Knight, was also in the group. NKOTB became very successful, selling more than 80 million records around the world.
In 1994, while the band was on tour for their album “Face the Music,” Jonathan left the group. At first, the other members told fans that Jonathan had been hurt by a horse and couldn’t perform. However, this wasn’t true.
A few weeks later, the band held a press conference. They told everyone the real reason for Jonathan’s absence; the group was breaking up. This announcement marked the end of New Kids on the Block’s initial run as a band.
After a long hiatus, Jonathan Knight and his New Kids on the Block buddies decided to give it another go in 2008. Talk about a blast from the past, right? They dropped “The Block” in September that year, their first album in 14 years. Can you imagine the nostalgia?
To prove they weren’t just teasing us, the guys reunited on the “Today” show in May 2008. Picture it: five grown men, once teen heartthrobs, back together after 15 years. Must’ve been quite a sight!
They didn’t stop there. NKOTB hit the road for a world tour in Toronto that September. Their comeback single “Summertime” did pretty well, especially in Canada where it reached #9. Even in the U.S., it cracked the top 30. Not bad for a group of “old” kids on the block, huh?
In 2024, these guys are still at it! They released “Still Kids” in May, their first album in 11 years. And they are touring again in the “Magic Summer 2024 Tour,” starting in June. Paula Abdul and DJ Jazzy Jeff are joining them too. Talk about a 90s throwback party!
